Hey Travel Lover…Merry Christmas!
How did you spend your Christmas? What was different from last year’s? Where did you travel to?
Christmas is typically synonymous with travel, although this year, the story was a "no show" for most people, including Ajalaress. I always look forward to Christmas travel and plan for it from September… Since I didn’t travel this year, I spent the day with friends-turned-family. Oh well, next year is another year!!!
Speaking about Christmas, one of my favorite things asides spending it with family, receiving gifts and of course Christmas food are Christmas trees; the gigantic extraordinarily decorated ones. I had heard so much about the Rockefeller Christmas tree in New York and I was looking forward to seeing it. The crowd when I went was overwhelming and to get a close up with the tree was quite a herculean task. Thanks to my sister, we captured the amazing pictures below…
Another Christmas tree that captivated me was this magnificent silvery masterpiece in CORE shopping centre, Calgary. It was a beauty to behold. The way it was positioned made it hard to fully capture, I had to go up two levels to get a perfect view…
Finally, I love the Christmas trees at the airports as most of them are big, bold and beautiful. It further heightens the already festive air and makes me anticipate getting to my destination faster. The one below is from the airport in Turkey. I really loved the magnificent view as I glided down the escalator.
There are so many things I love above Christmas trees… I love the fact that they are put up before Christmas day, I love the fact that are up long after Christmas day, I love the string lights, brightly coloured ornaments and star on the tree top.
So Travel Lover, how did you spend your Christmas? Did you put up a Christmas tree? What are some of the things you like about Christmas? I would love to know in the comments section.
Till Next Week
Truly Yours
Ajalaress
Christmas Cheer
Despite the grouchiness of the covid19 restrictions, the Christmas Cheer remained in the hearts and attitudes of People especially Nigerians who use the occasion of the holidays to create a vacuum between the outgoing year and incoming one. No matter how bad the year may have been, Nigerians must jollificate during the christmas season.
I love the family time, bonding, Christmas carols and the food, and yes we did put up a Christmas tree and decorated it as a family which was another opportunity for bonding.Christmas reminds us of spending memorable time with family and friends and this year was no exception despite the challenging times the year brought but we are still standing tall and have every reason to be joyful and thankful
