Hey Travel Lover
Do you like to try out new experiences? Do you enjoy making new friends? Do you believe networking is the new currency? Yes, Yes and Yes for me. These are the things that make this journey called life, interesting, intriguing and definitely invigorating!
Whenever I visit Lagos I like to try out new restaurants so I can intelligently recommend them to you. Shout out to the good Samaritan in me obviously🤣😁. My last visit to Lagos was no exception. I had pinpointed some restaurants I’d love to try out before I arrived. Planning ahead right? When my fellow restaurant-trying-bestie asked if I had any suggestions on suitable restaurants for a farewell dinner, I was super excited.
The 2-in-1 combo that day was a delicious double-delight. One, new restaurant experience, two, making new friends. On this occasion, my recommendation was SLoW. From the pictures I had seen, it had a lovely ambience and seemed really cozy. Bestie was a good sport because although she had been there before, she agreed that we still head there. When we got to SLoW, I saw my “new friends” and we discovered almost all our names ended with “oma”. It was a cute common ground for five fabulous ladies to share. Call us 4 “Oma’s” and 1 “Nma”.
We didn’t have a reservation so we initially sat at a bar-like table. Then magically a group canceled and voila we got great seats. Immediately we sat down, we were given shots of Basil Lemonade, an amazing mocktail in my opinion. It was a welcome delight.
Do you get overwhelmed when it’s time make a choice from the menu? Either food or drink? I do. I always back my choices with silent prayers so it’s a hit rather than a miss.
The cocktails menu had lots of interesting names and I love when the menu shows the components of a cocktail. It reduces the hit or miss factor to an extent. I just wish they had images of the glass size or serving portion too🤭. One “oma” and the only “nma” decided not to go through the hassle of deciding on a cocktail and asked an oma to make the decision on their behalf. Some people just can’t stress😌. After much perusing, I decided on a SLoW and why not? I was in SLoW.
Then I said more silent prayers for it to come in a big glass. Other cocktails we chose were JackSparo, Wrong Mojito, Café Colada, Lemongrass Daiquiri and Peach Please. When the cocktails arrived, SLoW delivered 💃🏿 and it had 1 fresh Chili pepper in it. Though JackSparo and Lemongrass Daiquiri were nice, their glasses were small. Café Colada and Wrong Mojito were as expected✅
We had starters of Flatbread and Hummus. For our meals, we choose different dishes, King Prawns, Salmon Fillet, Beef Short Ribs and Lamb Chops. I also requested for some greens. Call it my feeble attempt at fit-fam behavior that day. Although it was great fun and food with friends, I must add that this is not a place you visit with a lean budget🫣.
Overall, I loved the warmth, discussion and laughter on our table. It was a beautiful night out and of course I collected the “Omas” numbers to keep in touch😉😁

Five Friends and Fine Food
Beautiful penmanship as always. I have to follow your footsteps at saving up numbers… unfortunately I am slow at making new friends. Blame the introvert in me🫣🫣
The choice of drinks was fantastic and making new friends in a new environment like Lagos i think is ok
