Hey Travel Lover
What word comes to mind when you think of a getaway? What activities would you include in your getaway? Do you have a “Get-A-Way” destination in your to-do LIST at the moment? Fun, More Fun, A lot More Fun are some of the words that come to mind and I have several “Get-A-Way” destinations.
This particular Gorgeous Girls Get-A-Way, (GGG for short) was a three-day wonder weekend I recently organized. It all started with engaging a friend who wanted me to share beautiful destinations in Nigeria. Voila! This destination – Almat Farms - popped up and I couldn't resist planning a visit which turned out to be mind blowing!!!
The weekend had way too much packed in that I have decided to write about each day separately. So sit back, grab your throw pillow, plop your feet up on them and read on.
The GGG crew arrived at Almat farm literally from all over Nigeria; Lagos, Port Harcourt, Asaba and Kaduna. Our accommodations were huts and they were lovelier and bigger than we expected. One particular hut had an amazing view of the infinity pool….The blankets and curtains were made with beautiful Ankara fabrics and we had raffia baskets for our laundry. Who does that little victory dance when you discover you got it right with the hotel and destination? I did several little victory dances that first day and you will see why in a bit.
Day One started off with resting after the journey, but after a short while, two of us got restless and we decided to explore our new temporary home before the official farm tour. Before long, my accomplice and I were uuuhhing and ahhhing at the picturesque views, the well fed Horses, the Ducks (I actually saw sitting Ducks), the Camels, the Peacocks, the Chinese Silk Chicken (the features of this specie was scary to me) and a couple of other choice animals. We snuck in a picture or two before heading back to the huts….
Then evening came and two events standout. The first was our extremely tasty dinner served in wooden plates - everything was delish - and the interesting conversations as we savored and devoured the meal. A picture with us and our meal seemed a herculean task to all we asked (so sad).
The second was the bonfire night organized by our host. At this point we got some precious “inner scoop” or “lay of the land” tips from guests who got in earlier than us. We applied said “scoop” the next day happily...Don't miss part 2 so you get this full gist… wink wink

Wow this so detailed and calling a taste of the pudding. I have added it to my bucket list.
Thanks for the pictures to buttress the wonderful experience.
Love you Ajalaress
As always , great write up Ajalaress . Nice that you have chosen to highlight a domestic destination and from all indications a really beautiful one at that ,probably it should be four Gs rather than three , Gorgeous , gorgeous girls getaway or maybe so as not to be unduly repetitive ... gorgeous , glamorous , girls getaway . The place is truly gorgeous , looks so easy on the eye . Idyllic And seems ideal for a retreat whether personal, family or corporate. Y’all must have had a wonderful time . Where exactly is it located in the country ? Or maybe we will be told at the tail end of the tale ( excuse the pun). Nigeria actually does have a number of such places ‘ hidden in plain sight ‘ but somehow those that can afford to getaway are usually much more interested in destinations foreign and faraway . This makes for a really nice change , kudos . Errr..... can we have the rest of the story please ?
