Hey Travel Lover
You have made a decision on your destination, you have made a decision on how long your holiday is for, and then you check the flight duration…fourteen hours as in one, four (14)hours nonstop!!! How do you judiciously spend your time inflight?
David Robinson says preparation is everything and I agree wholeheartedly.
When I found myself in the above “fourteen-hour” situation in 2013, I was shocked, surprised and stupefied. I was travelling alone which ruled out friendly chatter with a travel buddy. I always travel with books but I can only read for a few minutes when I am airborne and remember, I had fourteen hours. I decided to hinge most of my activities on the inflight entertainment. This refers to the movies, series, games, music and so on offered by the aircraft while airborne.
I have come to realize however that there are inflight entertainment and there are inflight entertainment. Some aircrafts make the experience better than others, they stock the latest box office movies, latest songs and so on and with the others you see movies, songs and series of yesteryears.
My flight in 2013 was fun as the inflight entertainment had movies I hadn’t gone to the cinema to see, there was also a great selection of music and I was alternating between watching movies, listening to music, reading a few pages of my book at a time and of course sleeping. I was prepared to wisely use my fourteen hours.
So Travel Lover, how do you spend your time on a long flight? Do you key in to the inflight entertainment like me? Do you read all through or sleep all through? What do you do? Please share with us in the comments section.
Till Next Time
Truly Yours

A good book, coffee and Amarula. You can pass the in-flight entertainment to my neighbor and won't even notice.
Well I can say I miss the 14 hours inflight entertainment, to me it’s fun. You just board and when you alight it’s end of journey. I do my prayers, watch movies, walk around a bit, listen to songs while enjoying their food and drinks served at intervals, sleep for some time and before you know it the captain is warning people to fasten their seatbelts and prepare for landing.
