Hey Travel Lover
A quote by Rick Riordan says “Chocolate should be savored, not rushed” Do you agree? Are you a chocolate lover? If Yes, are you Team Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate or White Chocolate? I am in two teams (milk and white).
As you already know I am a happy bird (especially when I have an upcoming trip), and this behavior has immense benefits for me. If you didn’t read last week’s experience you should catch up here.
My trip to Istanbul wasn’t any different. As the travel date got closer the louder I chirped happily and widely as always. This led to a friend giving me a tip-off about a museum I must visit. Before the recommendation, this museum wasn’t on my list of places to visit.
I love history, I love traveling back in time through images and that’s why I love visiting museums. Of all the ones I’ve visited, this was a museum with a twist. It was a Chocolate Museum🥹😍. It had a lot of landmarks, artworks and historical figures all delicately carved…IN CHOCOLATE. The museum was on several floors and it had an unbelievably amazing chocolate fountain.
Pelit Chocolate Museum is located some distance from the city center and the nearest metro-bus stop to it is still further away. I had to go there by taxi, pretty expensive but well worth the trip. Immediately you walk into the building you are greeted with this sweet overwhelming, all around aroma of chocolate. That’s how you know you are definitely in the right place. I bought my ticket right at the museum reception and proceeded on my tour.
A Picture is worth a thousand words they say. I saw whole structures made of chocolates. I scooped and savored the most delicious milk chocolate from the chocolate fountain. As Rick suggested, I indeed savored this chocolate, I couldn’t afford to rush. I stayed up-close to the statue of liberty, the Trojan horse and other noteworthy structures. My descriptions might not do it justice, so enjoy the pictures.
In my opinion, anyone visiting Istanbul, apart from the shopping - clears throat – must plan a visit to Pelit Chocolate Museum. Bonus tip, you get free chocolates at the end of the tour, there's also an assortment of chocolates to buy from🤭😍
So Travel Lover, do you savor or rush your chocolate? Are you Team dark, white or milk? Would you visit the Pelit Chocolate Museum when next in Istanbul?
Till next week.

Oh…I’m a white chocolate person 😉
