Hey Travel Lover
According to Mother Theresa “Peace begins with a smile….”
Do you like to smile? Do you love visiting “peaceful” attractions? Do you like the involuntary move of your lips into the start of a beautiful smile when your experience meets expectation?
The answer for me is Yes, Yes and Yes and why not? One of my names, Ufuoma, means peace😁 and I love to smile🤭
My brother in Malta was the perfect host indeed even to eating my rabbit when I couldn’t stomach any more pieces (catch up here). When he suggested visiting San Anton Garden, mom and I had no objections as every other place he had suggested had been a hit.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I knew I’d be pleasantly surprised. We arrived bright and early and began our tour of the garden. There were pockets of people all around, either listening to a tour guide or taking pictures. We, on the other hand, strolled leisurely taking in the sights and sounds at first…
It was a peaceful garden, I liked the calm animals we saw going about their business. We saw a peacock, I followed it for sometime waiting for it to display it’s beautiful feathers…it didn’t. We also saw a black swan, I didn’t know it was considered rare until I came home and I was showing a friend pictures from my trip and I heard, “you saw a black swan”? Honestly I thought it was a black duck🤭 we learn every day.
There was also a maze in the garden. It was fun trying to come out of the maze with mom. We had lots of hearty laughter whenever we got stuck. We eventually succeeded and got out. Then we saw the beautiful Fountain some turtles call home. Whilst looking at them and trying to take pictures, we met three amazing ladies – tourists from the United States, they offered to take our pictures and we reciprocated by taking pictures of them as well. Unfortunately we didn’t take any pictures together. We spoke about our respective countries and our vacation. It was a satisfying tourist banter.
Finally, some scenes from Game of Thrones was shot both at the San Anton Garden and the Presidential Palace (next door to the garden) I couldn’t resist smiling that I’d been in a filming location. This was one high point for me.
So Travel Lover, do you like to smile? Do you like peaceful tourist attractions? Did the San Anton Garden in Malta make it to your bucket list? Awaiting your responses in the comments section
Till next week…
