Hey Travel Lover
Have you watched The Little Mermaid? Did you like the coral reefs and aquatic life you saw? Can you remember the lines below?
Under the sea, Under the sea, Darling it’s better, Down where it’s wetter, Take it from me. Up on the shore they work all day, Out in the sun they slave away, While we devotin’, Full time to floatin’, Under the sea…
This was what kept playing in my head when I experienced the Panoramic glass bottom boat adventure in Sharm El Sheikh recently. I’d totally recommend it. It’s a beautiful and relaxing way to spend the day. I also liked that I was picked up from my hotel and dropped off after the activity.
It was my last day in Egypt and after all the other touristy activities I’d engaged in, I just wanted to take it easy. Under the Sea seemed like the best place to be. We started off, sitting on the upper deck while the boat made its way to where the coral reefs where in abundance. After about five minutes, we were asked to descend to the lower deck.
Now, before we got on the boat, my tour guide told me to stay on the left side of the boat to get a better view at the glass bottom. I was full of thanks for his expert tip, in retrospect, I wish I took this tip with a pinch of salt as all the excitement and “fun fish” happened to be on the right😅🫣unless we each had different notions of left and right😅
So, in my position on the left side, I got some pictures and videos of single fish and saw lots of the coral reef…To think, I’d seen it up-close just the day before while snorkeling….story for another day😉 Then the shouts from the right side started, come see this fish, come see that fish, I quickly relocated to the right so as not to miss out on any more amazing sights.
I saw different species of fish, you can spot the lazy non-swimming fish in the video below. The highlight of my visit under the sea was the moment several fish disappeared into the coral in a blink, as if there was impending doom. I’d seen it in movies, it was just amazing to see it at close range. Sadly it happened too fast to be captured. And you can guess which side I saw this wonder…the right.
After several pictures and videos, we left the coral reefs and it was time to go to the upper deck again. There were some freebies on the boat and some you could buy. I didn’t indulge as I was closely watching what I had gained -weight wiseat this time.
So Travel Lover, do you like Under the Sea? Is this an activity that will make it to your bucket list or you would pass? Is Egypt on your bucketlist? Let us see your responses in the comments section.
