Hey Travel Lover
According to Mark Patterson “The best education you’ll get is traveling. Nothing teaches you more, than exploring the world and accumulating experiences.”
I agree wholeheartedly with this quote. Do you? The things I’ve learnt from my little exploration of the world, priceless…
I’ve been a darling of the luxury brand Mont Blanc for many years. That’s why the day I was gifted a Mont Blanc notebook and pen, I was the happiest person alive😍😍😍. Despite my affinity for Mont Blanc, I really didn’t do any research into the name or the brand.
In 2022, I visited Switzerland and I was so glad to finally tick it off my “countries to be visited” list. I’ve visited 19 countries by the way….I digress🤭😁😆. During my trip to Geneva, one of the “must visit” tourist attractions I highlighted was the water fountain, called Jet d’Eau. I wanted a mini cruise so I could be as close to it as possible. Unfortunately I didn’t check the weather conditions for my short stay.
Immediately I arrived, I rested for a short while and went to the concierge to ask how I could go for my cruise. I’m happy I didn’t book online as I definitely would have missed it. The concierge graciously offered me a transportation pass for the duration of my stay. He also assured me that it would be easy to locate my destination. He went ahead to bring out a map (this is still one part I’m yet to understand) and started with the famous lines “you are here…🤔😐” . Immediately, it seemed it would be difficult, so I asked if I couldn’t just take a taxi. He said I’ll still walk after I was dropped off hence it’s best to use the city transport.
Half convinced about this “treasure hunt” I took the map, knowing I’ll get lost but praying kind hearted people will assist me get on track🥺. As I stepped out of the hotel it started drizzling lightly. I was happy my tested and trusted little red umbrella was with me. Hardly go anywhere without it🤭😁
I located the tram stop quickly enough, that was as easy as ABC….the hard part started when I alighted. First off, I got down at the wrong stop. Then I started trying to find the cruise company stand while looking at the map🫠I had walked about two to three minutes before I asked someone. Alas, she was a tourist like me and she didn’t know the way. Then I asked another lady and she told me a series of turns I needed to take to be on the right path. At this time, the rain had picked up. I remember thinking, shouldn’t I have stayed back in my room with a good cuppa?😅.
Finally, I located the stand, paid my fare and joined the waiting group of eager tourists. The wait was barely 15 minutes, as we soon got onboard and started our cruise across Lake Geneva. The Jet d’Eau has the glorious backdrop of Mont Blanc. Mont Blanc (White Mountain) is remarkable because it is one of the highest mountains in Europe. It’s covered with snow year round and can be seen in three countries, France, Italy and Switzerland.
Thanks to this mini adventure I now have a more vivid picture to associate with my beloved luxury brand. I enjoyed my little experience even though it was done in the rain. The Jet d’Eau and glimpse of Mont Blanc made it worthwhile.
