Quite an experience you had there . For the air traveler , the possibility of missing flights is a major ‘ occupational hazard ‘ . And once the boarding gate is closed , pleading is a waste of time . Just imagining you tearing through the terminal building trying to catch up . It must have been distinctly unpleasant, I can entirely relate , I have been there .......once , hopefully never again .
Some lessons are truly unforgettable, that day I felt terribly embarrassed , aside from the extra money and time wasted . Infact anyone who’s ever missed a flight would do anything to make sure the experience is never repeated .

i have never personally experienced this as i always glue my ears once the boarding calls are being announced as i know how frustrating it can be. I think the only time same would have happened was when i went alone to Dubai and couldnt really make out the intonation of the airline staff. However, i had a friend who i met there and i kept asking till it was time. LOL!!! it can actually get your adrenaline racing beyond control to be in such a situation. I can imagine. Thanks Ajalaress for bringing this to our consciousness.

Story I can relate with! One of those life’s moments you would begin to ask where the minutes went. Never a delight to miss flights; would have packed things away and made plans for the evening and next day at the destination. Oh well, one of those things we never repeat!
Wow it’s not palatable at all. A family went for vacation from Nigeria to the US and sat at the wrong gate to connect their flight before they realized it was boarding time and it was more than 30minutes journey.
The fun of the journey was ruined.
I don’t want to experience it so I always try to get to my gate before getting food or drinks or taking pictures.

Funny story! Hopefully you didn’t have to pay hotel fees for an extra night as well. I’ve also missed my flight once. Not a great experience. 😊
