Hey Travel Lover
Did you enjoy Part 1 (See it here)? Have you chosen a getaway destination now? How would you describe your expectations using different adjectives?
Day two of the Gorgeous Girls Get-A-Way was so eventful that I sometimes forget it was just one day. It was one unforgettable experience that has kept me smiling each time I recall the fine details. Is your popcorn ready?
We started the morning by taking a long walk (and of course pictures) around the lush green grounds. We got to see the bridge - there was a small lake, the large expanse of green and some animals from afar – Shy Llamas, Camels with their three eyelids and some horses that were grazing. We also took lots of picture perfect "Jump shots" with the hills as our backdrop. That in itself was a fun exercise as we soon realised that the perfect jump shot doesn’t come easy.
Then we went for breakfast where we got to apply that inner scoop we heard during the bonfire of the previous night. Guess the tipoff - “tea or coffee comes at an additional cost” it wasn’t part of the complimentary breakfast. We had our breakfast mindful of this guide and kept looking around to see which guest will fall prey just like the kind guest who gave us the exposé.
After resting a while, we joined the other resident guests and day trippers on a guided farm tour. We looked really gorgeous – if I say so myself - and one grandma couldn’t resist being in our pictures. In her words, she wanted to be associated with the fine girls.
During the tour, we went to the stables to see the horses and ponies, we got to feed some horses, I remember how the horses would reach out and eat from our hands, the tour guide mentioned horses are a shy lot, who knew?
We also saw crocodiles from afar, a certain gorgeous girl had to climb on the divide to get the perfect shot. Then we saw Llamas up-close, another shy breed, Tortoise – one was about sixty years old, Monkeys being chirpy as always and beautiful peacocks and peahens – though the peacock didn’t spread it’s feathers, it definitely wasn’t trying to attract a mate. Finally, we officially heard about the famous Chinese Silkie Chickens – this specie has five toes, feathered legs and more fluffy plumage
Now, there was a playground of sorts on the farm where we really let our inner child come out to play. I can remember a number of us getting on the bouncy castle and bouncing away with no care in the world. I love to swing and I indulged in swinging as well.
Did I mention that Almat Farms has a beautiful blue infinity Pool. It was a hot sunny afternoon, and we just couldn't resist the pull from the blue pool. Considering its size and depth, it definitely was not for the faint hearted or an amateurish swimmer. We however got in, albeit aided and waded from point to point. There was an amazing lady at the poolside with words of encouragement for the "chickens" like us. She frequently hollered words like “you can do it”, “just relax, you will be fine” and so on. We also got to take stunning pictures there as always.
The final item on our agenda for the day was dinner in Abuja town at a restaurant called Cilantro. We went in a convoy of two groups of three. The restaurant was all we thought it would be and more. You could sit inside or outside, we chose to sit out as it was such a beautiful night. While waiting for our meal, we decided to deliberately leave our cell phones and answer questions on the trivia cards we brought along. It was a lovely way to pass time and wait for our meal. It got noisy at one point and we had to lower our voices so as not to disturb other people dining. We had great cocktails and tasty starter soups. The naan bread was a dream and the main course of dishes made with Prawns, Chicken, Fish and Beef was so delicious. It was also a picture ready destination and we got some taken. Meal done, we headed back to the farm late that night
Day two was indeed filled with lots of lively moments, hearty laughter and loving memories with the girls playing dress up at almost every turn. I can't wait to share how it all ended in part 3

Wow this is breathtaking. Thanks be to God we have places we can let off steam now in Nigeria.
My daughter, her children and I had a similar experience in Port Harcourt. We just wanted an escape from Lagos and behold it was a big payoff.
Though it wasn’t a stay in like Ajalaress Get away place but we had lots of fun.
1st was the train that took us round the Pleasure Park with our guide pointing out the captivating scenery
The children were so excited. We had some fresh mixture of sugarcane and pineapple juice. It was something else.
We rounded the tour up with a very interesting movie, Spirit Untamed; all within the Park.
All of us adults and children enjoyed the movie so much we didn’t want it to end.
It’s good to let off steam sometime and refresh
Amazing indeed 😍
Will plan something similar soon
Gorgeous Men getaway 😍
Kudos ma'am
