Hey Travel Lover
Have you knowingly or unknowingly booked a flight with a layover of over 8 hours? What did you do while waiting? Was it worth your while?
If you haven’t read the first part of Wait Time click here
So, I had heard a lot about Marrakech, Morocco, it seemed a bunch of celebrities were trooping there and of course it made its way to my bucket list and my "destination next". When I remember the hassle to get the visa to Morocco - sigh - story for another day.
While booking the flight ticket, I saw there was a layover of over 8 hours at Casablanca, searched for an earlier time, but that was the earliest. Having no alternative, ticket was bought and I decided to tour Casablanca before heading to Marrakech, best idea ever!
On that trip, I instantly became a tourist in Casablanca; I visited the seventh largest Mosque in the world, Hassan II Mosque, it was magnificent. I also visited the market to look at 1.)Moroccan Rugs – they were very beautiful and also quite expensive. 2) Argan oil – Argan trees are native to Morocco and the benefits of the oil to hair and skin cannot be over emphasized. 3) spices – I like a little pizzazz on my taste bud so I ended up in a restaurant to taste the delicacies of Morocco. The Tagine is a popular meal and a Moroccan National dish. One can have either Chicken, Lamb or Vegetable Tagine. I ate Tagine much later in Marrakech, my travel buddy however, had hers in Casablanca.
While heading to the airport, I was happy with all I accomplished during my wait time in Casablanca and truth be told, I had been intrigued by the name Casablanca from the first time I saw it in a novel.
So Travel Lover, reminiscing on this trip, I believe my wait time was well spent. Do you have equally interesting moments to share? Have you been to or would you like to visit Marrakech or Casablanca? Let us know in the comments section
Till Next Week
